Turkey Day!!

This Thanksgiving was a probably my favorite so far! I'd have to say that all of the credit goes to Nic. It was so great starting new traditions with him, and having a buddy to go to all of the parties with. One new tradition that we started was our Thankful Turkey.

He's pretty colorful because that was the only paper we had, but I think it gives him character. Our turkey doesn't have a lot of feathers in this picture because this was the beginning of the project. Everyday we wrote a new thing that we were thankful for on the feathers and then stuck them on the turkey. It was fun because it showed us just how blessed we are! The other traditions include cooking. Like I made a cinnamon roll apple pie. I'm still perfecting it, but when I do, I will post it to my "recipes" link.

The week before Thanksgiving all we got together with Nic's college friends and had a big Pre-Thanksgiving dinner. It was pretty much last time we'll all be together before Nic and I move to Arizona. It was so good though to laugh and play games with everyone. We're going to miss our friends so much! (P.S. special congrats to Dan and Lindsay!! They had their baby girl, Kate, a few days after our party!)

Then for Thanksgiving weekend. Nic and I of course had dinner with the family. Well, my family at least because Nic's is in Tennessee. After dinner our family has a tradition of making gingerbread houses. I have to say ours is pretty darn impressive.

It was a grand old time. Friday Nic and I just slept in and enjoyed not having to work or anything. Saturday we took a trip up to Salt Lake City.... not the best of ideas. It was super crowded!! Though I will admit the temple lights were great! My phone died when we got up there though so I didn't get any pictures. :( FAIL!

I'm so grateful for what this year has brought me! I'm thankful for my husband, my family, and my friends. I'm thankful that Nic and I could have so many loved ones! With out you guys life would be a complete bummer!

Thanks so much for everything you all have done!

Psych!!!

We have some big news!!!!

We're not moving to Tennessee anymore.... we're moving to ARIZONA!!!

Although I'm pretty bumbed out that we wont be with Nic's parents (I'm kind of the type that once I have a plan in my head I don't like to change it), it will be a great new adventure for us!

The reason for the turn of events is because Nic got a job out there working at a sports medicine clinic. So he'll still be a Physical Therapy Aid which is such a blessing because he needs all of the experience he can get for grad school!! I will still be going to Cosmetology School down there full time... I am so excited to start that! For those of you who don't know... it's basically my dream for me to own a salon... or do hair and make up for Broadway... I think that would be pretty cool too!

We are still moving down December 19th and will be there for at least a year and a half or so. So now anyone in Utah has no excuse not to come visit us!

This Thanksgiving weekend is not over yet so I will update this again later! Just wanted to let ya'll know!

Fall Calls for a Change

So I guess marriage hasn't changed me that much, because I still am inconsistent... with life! I apologize for not updating our blog for over a month. Life has certainly caught up with us! Nic is trying to get through his last semester at BYU and I've been working full time. I seriously have respect for single working parents! I have no idea how I could do that! I'm not even a parent yet!

I know October is WAY in the past, but I do just want to talk about one awesome thing....

OUR SWEET BABY NEPHEW WAS BORN!!!

Cool eh? Easton Owens! 10/20/12 It's crazy to think that my big brother is now a dad, and a great one at that! Easton is such a stud! We love him so much! This isn't really my first niece of nephew... in fact Easton was the 7th, but he was the first one that was born with Nic now in the family. I love having my brother Jake and his wife Heather live so close to us because I can go see them and the new bug almost whenever now!
So congrats Jake and Heather! Way to make a baby!!

Also some sweet news is that Nic is graduating this December!! Though with living in BYU housing we can only live in our apartment if either me or Nic is a BYU student. So that means that we are moving! Where are we moving to you ask? Drum roll please!! ......................................................................

TENNESSEE!

Crazy right? I have never lived out side of Utah except of those small moments in Texas to see my dad. This time though we might not ever come back to my precious dry desert! I'm so trilled to be moving and starting this new adventure with Nic... especially since we'll be with Nic's mom and dad! Now you might ask "Why Tennesse of all places?" We actually say "Well why not?" We were supposed to be moving to Arizona, but unfortunately that doesn't look like it will be working out. That's OK though because God always has a plan for us! We just feel right about it and are happy to live where ever as long has we have each other! I'm going to miss Utah with all of my heart! I'm especially going to miss my friends and family, but I'm looking forward to going to cosmetology school and then moving AGAIN once Nic gets into grad-school!

So that is what's happening right now! Sorry we're not too exciting! Maybe after the Holidays and moving! There is sure to be a lot happening in the next few weeks!

Fun Happenings!

These past few weeks have been crazy! I think I'm getting dementia at an early age because I don't seem to remember a lot of these past weeks, but I'll try to make it clear.

Well first, Happy October! I'm so excited that it's getting a little chilly so that I can wear my boots and sweaters once again! It's crazy how fast September came and went! In my last post I mentioned that we had A LOT of birthdays to celebrate! Well one was my amazing Mama Cragun's! Mama Cragun has been in my life since I was 10 years old! She's been such a great mother to not only her own children, but me as well! For those of you that haven't known me so long, like my in-law's, I have always been really great at getting adopted into other families! So Nic didn't just marry into one family, He married into at least five! It's so great! Well mama Cragun is my best friend Sidney's mom, and since Sidney and I live right across the parking lot from each other, Mama Cragun came after her birthday and we went out to dinner and watched The Avengers. It was great to spend time with her and Abby (Sidney's little sister), and just enjoy the company of having loved ones around.

Another fun thing is that Nic has been playing on an ultimate Frisbee team! His team is 3-1 and they just keep getting better! It's fun because three of the guys on the team, including Nic, are married. So us wives just sit there on the sidelines screaming and cheering the team on! I've learned that I'm quite the momma-bear when it comes to my husband and sports. The second game the boys played the other team was just super obnoxious and not even fun to play against. One guy started giving Nic crap and I was almost ready to walk over there and slap the guy! I think it's actually really funny for Sidney and Caroline (the other wives) to watch. Haha. At the last game, near the end, one of the guys was really blocking Nic to the point of fowling him. Since they were pretty close to us, I just yelled in my mean voice "GET OFF MY HUSBAND". Poor guy looked like he was only a freshman, and just automatically backed away! It was actually really funny. I guess just emotions from the other obnoxious game came up and I got all momma-bear again. At least we all know I've got my husband's back!

*side note: Lezlie... Nic was a good boy and played a clean game.... and he's not making me write this.

I guess some other big news is that I got a promotion at work! I went from being a Call Center Agent to the Customer Service Manager. It's a brand new position the company just put in, and I can't believe they gave it to me! Basically I just reply back to customer service emails, and take customer service calls, and make sure people are happy! I'm extremely thankful for the job! It is a pay raise and more hours, and it's a huge blessing for me and Nic. Though it definitely is more work! I'm not used to working full time so it's definitely a change of pace. I'm not used to coming home and not wanting to cook or clean... OK... so I never want to clean, but I have been more tired! That's why Nic and I are going to start insanity so that we have more energy!

Most recent news is that my one of my best friends is back from Alaska! Ashlyn!!! It's so fun to see her again and be able to spend time with her! Ashlyn is from Alaska and went back up there for the summer to work for Holland America and Princess Cruise lines. I've definitely missed her, but I could tell some great blessings came to her while she was up there! :)

One of the last things was GENERAL CONFERENCE WEEKEND! Though I'm actually going to create another post about that later on.

I do want to take a moment and mention my new Grandma Sonya. I recently received a beautiful note and gift from her in the mail! When Nic and I were on our honeymoon we went to The Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas. Nic and I actually really love Phantom. We like the movie, and we loved the show! Well Nic's Aunt Georgia, who sang the most lovely song at our wedding, has worked on Broadway, and her husband Alan has been working on the Phantom of the Opera set since it first came out on Broadway! (Yup! We're related to stars! Nic and I aren't talented so that our claim to fame) So Grandma Sonya sent me THE most comfy Phantom sweat shirt and I love it! It's sweats, and Phantom! What's not to love?! So thank you Grandma Sonya for the gift! You have a letter coming back to you in the mail soon!

Welp! That's our lives lately! I'm so thankful for my husband! We're finally getting used to marriage and learning new things every day! I'm thankful for Heavenly Father and the Lord, our Savior, Jesus Christ and and bringing me and my husband together! He truly knows us better than we know ourselves!

Oh Baby!

This week was nuts!

Sadly I don't have pictures! I'm always in the moment of everything and forget! I promise to try harder next time!

This week was actually boring... Nic just had school and I had work & it's really all a blur... this weekend however was nice! Friday night Nic and I decided that we needed some new fall clothes. So we set out to find Nic a new fall jacket, and me some cardis and jeans! We might have gotten more than we intentionally went for... but we were bargain shoppers!

I love that the two most important men in my life appreciate good style! My dad was the one that would always take me shopping. He doesn't have any sons so sadly that's the only way to bond with his daughters ;) Nic gives credit to England (He was born there and then went there on his mish) for his picky taste in shirts, shoes, and well... everything, but it's nice that he doesn't mind going to the mall with me!

Saturday was an amazing, but busy day! In the morning Nic and I went to my co-workers baptism. Can I just say that the Church is true? Yes I can it's my blog! It was so great to see him take that step in life and make that covenant with Heavenly Father! Of course I bawled like a baby... Nic was good support. ;) Some of the cool parts were the musical numbers. Cody and his family is Samoan, and goodness... do they have the prettiest voices! It was all so beautiful! It made me think about my baptism... I don't remember too much besides the fact that it was on my birthday, and my Mom and Step-Dad got married! I remember getting a CTR ring, but Cody will remember that day! I know that Cody will go far and that the Lord loves him!

Then it was off to my sister-in-laws baby shower!! My sister-in-law Heather is due in 4 weeks with baby Easton! I'm so excited! It will be fun to have another baby in the family! This will my 2nd blood related nephew. The only sad part is we might be out of the state by the time he gets to that adorable chubby stage :(
The shower was a lot of fun though! We played some great games and I got to try out this new sugar cookie recipe (boy was that an event). Heather got a lot of cute things! I LOVE baby clothes! They're so small and tiny!

Just when I was ready to tell Nic that I wanted to start having children, we went babysitting that night. My cousin Katie and her husband Jason got to go to the U of U vs. BYU game (next time Y, next time) while we babysat their 2 year old and 2 month old! Now these are probably some of the MOST well behaved, cutest children I have ever babysat, but boy are kids work! It was great to get some baby time in though! I loved it! They're so fun and it was great to see Nic play with them, but we are definitely fine with waiting just a little bit longer to have children of our own!

I feel bad about not having pictures so here are some!

Nic obviously wanted to marry me just for the month I was born in because his Grandma Sharline, Grandma Sonya, AND mom all have September birthdays! So here's a shout out to my wonderful new family! Happy Birthdays!!!

September is also the month my big brother was born in! Jake is the one that is going to be a dad soon! I'm so proud of him!

We can't forget that lovely lady on the left of me! Cherise Cragun! Cherise has been my other mom for 10 years and I love her dearly! If any of you came to my reception it was her backyard! She worked so hard to make it perfect for me and Nic! I love her so much and we are so thankful to have her in our lives! Her birthday is coming up soon and she deserves to be showered with lots of love!

Jake really likes September... Jake and Heather's anniversary is also on my birthday, September 4th... I'll be honest... when I found out they were getting married on my birthday I was not happy, but now I always remember they're anniversary, and they always remember my birthday! They celebrated their 3rd anniversary! They're such a great example to me and Nic and have always been there!

September truly is one of the best months around!

Well there you have it! Not too exciting to read about, but it's been a blast! Hopefully I'll have more pictures next time!

The Bibeaus

Havin' Fun at 21!

These past two weeks have sort of been a bitter-sweet feeling. Especially for Nic! Nic started school two weeks ago and his last semester is going to be a big one! Although, it is fun having him come home and tell me what he's been learning about muscles and nerves in the body!
(Here's Nic starting his first day of his last semseter.)

Nic starting school also means less work hours for him so I am now working longer hours... You think working at a call center would be a piece of cake, and it kinda is, but it can surely make for a long day! Especially when people aren't as nice as you hope! Also, not to mention that my friends and I at work all started working different hours. :( I do have to give my job some credit though, the hours are extremely flexible, and I did win $10 this week!

On the brighter side this week has had a lot of fun in it also!! IT WAS MY 21st BIRTHDAY!! It was also my first birthday as a married woman! Nic was so good at making me feel special! And holy smokes! So was my new mother-in-law! Nic told me that a package was coming to me and I was so excited! I was expecting a few gift cards, but nope! In the package was a big pink purse with my name on it, a pink watch with rinestones, some Burtsbee's chapstick, and Amazon gift cards! The Amazon gift cards were for a sewing machine!!

I got it in the mail on Thursday and I am so stoked to start all of my projects!! Be prepared for blogs on my crafts! I'm so thankful for such a kind and giving mother-in-law! She only has two boys so it's so fun to be her new daughter! Nic was so great as well! He went above and beyond! He got me a new cell phone cover and screen protector... and..... NEW SWEATS!!!

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a sweataholic. In the winter time it's all I wear! After Nic proposed I discovered the event was almost going to happen in sweats! Nic had to sneakily get me to change and I'm so glad he did! Also that night he took me to Red Lobster (in our sweats) where we tried their endless shrimp. Nic and I tried so hard to eat all we could! I don't think they expected us to eat so much, yet have so many left overs... what can I say I'm a hoarder... but they still sang to me with a lobster!

It was great! Then we went star gazing! It was perfect! I feel like that was a lot of talking about me, but I am truly thankful for my loved-ones that remembered and wrote on my wall! I even appreciate my mom who was out of town, but hurried and called on a dead battery ;)

Also something excited for Nic was that he started ultimate frisbee, and man, the kid was on fire!! One thing I have learned being married is that Nic NEEDS sports, or else none of us are happy! My best friend's husband plays on the same team so it was fun to be in a little cheer section with her! I didn't get any picture's... I need to be better at that... We had dinner with so many great friends over the week also and I got nothin' to show for it! Next time though!

Welp! Stay tuned for next week! It's my sister-in-laws baby shower!! I'm so excited to have a new addition to the family! Love Always, The Bibeaus

Never Wanna Grow Up

“Growing old is unavoidable, but never growing up is possible." - Johnny Depp

My husband Nic always calls me his little girl and says that I will always be his little girl. I find this as one of my greatest achievements in our relationship. I love that he calls me this because sometimes as adults we forget that it's OK to play! It's OK to be vulnerable, and to dream, and to laugh until you cry, and it's OK to not assume the worst of others!

The Savior himself said to " becometh as a jchildksubmissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father." - Mosiah 3:19

Now in no way am I perfect at this. I still let greed, stress, and weakness overcome me sometimes, but I love that one of my qualities is being a little bit childlike. For one it always keeps mine and Nic's relationship in a happy place! We love to chase each other around the house, dance around the kitchen, and do things that we haven't done since we were kids. Because sometimes... you just need to be a kid again! Sometimes a relationship just needs a little bit (or a lot) of fun!

This weekend was great! To live up to our childlike selves Nic and I decided to build a fort in our living room!

It was soo fun cause we both had different techniques of how to build a fort and we discovered that by combining some of those techniques we had a pretty rockin' hut!! That's kind of how a marriage is. Two people are raised in different homes and in different ways, then you have to come together and see what you can combine for your very own perfect marriage!

Now Nic and I could have made this a bad experience fighting over which way the fort should be built. It's exactly the same in a marriage. You can nag and fight just because you want your way, when in actuality you might be missing a more productive way to have a successful marriage!

Sorry to go off on that tangent, but after all it is Sunday, and we are all trying to improve right? Especially me!

So yes! Building our fort was a blast! Here are some more pictures!

Nic in front of the fort! (Don't worry... you'll hardly see him smile in photos... He's not always as excited to make a Kodak moment as I am)

Me in front of the fort! (See I love the camera WAY more than Nic does!)

Us getting ready to watch "Warrior" in our fort! (Good movie!)

I'm so thankful for my amazing husband and for loving me for my crazy, childlike self! The whole time we were engaged I asked him if he knew what he was getting himself into, and for some reason he still decided to go through with it! I'm so glad he did!

Thank you so much to our friends and family for supporting us!

Love,
The Bibeaus!

P.S. Nic has been singing to me this entire time... our new motto should be "Weird Name, Weird Family"
and again I apologize for making this one of those "life lesson" posts!

One Month Down, Eternity to Go!

This has been a whirl wind of a year! Just 7 months ago I started dating what turned out to be the love of my life! We've been married for a month now and it has been a blast! It seems like it's been longer than a month, but I guess the calendar doesn't lie. We got our new apt which is so nice because now I can put my stuff where I want, and know where all of my clothes are. ;) The only down side is that I feel that there is always cleaning to do! I do the dishes, turn around for 2 min, and there are more dishes! It's mostly because I'm trying to make meals from scratch these days so I guess it's worth it. Nic and I have loved opening our gifts and finding ways to use them! I wish I could say I had a favorite, but they've all been so useful!

The other weird thing is waking up to a man every morning, I was not used to that idea at first, but it's awesome to wake up to my best friend drooling every night :) Just kidding... he's pretty good about that!

So here are some things we've done this month!
We got married! *Special thank you to Shane and Cherise Cragun for letting us use their backyard. It was PERFECT!!!
We went on a wonderful honeymoon to Las Vegas for a week! My favorite part was probably going to see "The Phantom of the Opera" before they closed it down. Nic surprised me with tickets the morning of! *Special thanks to Nic's dad Tom for the honeymoon gift!
Someone from the ward "doorbell ditched" us and left a guitar as a "Welcome to the Ward" gift! Nic and I don't play the guitar, but it definitely made our night!

So Nic and I occasionally will do cute things for each other. One of my favorites was when I had to work on a Saturday so Nic picked me up and we went to dinner at Tucano's. Then I came home to a spotless house and flowers on the table. I LOVE flowers so this completely made my day!

Something fun I did for Nic was when he was at work, I went and got a bunch of little squirt guns at the grocery store. I filled the guns with water and made a sign saying "This means WAR!" I left two guns out for him and kept two for myself. When I heard him unlocking the door I hid in the bathroom and he came running down the hall! He found me and we had the best water fight! Nic got disqualified though cause he got a squirt bottle... so really I won ;) It was so great and worth the mopping up afterwards!

One more thing was Nic turned 23!! We celebrated his birthday at California Pizza Kitchen! I had never been there before and it was so yummy! Then when we got home I gave Nic his present which was a pair of black and gray basketball shorts. Nic wears them all the time so I think I did a good job! :)

So that is part of our first month together! It's been so exciting learning about one another, and growing together as a family! I'm so excited for the rest of eternity!

I'm also so excited to start blogging! *Leave a comment if you want me to blog about something specific (i.e. How we met or How he proposed) Also, if you have a blog be sure and let me know how to follow you!

The Blog

Hi y'all! So now that I'm married and excited stuff is going to be happening (hopefully), I decided to start a blog! My friend Kristen at work showed me hers and I fell in love! Hopefully as I get more into it I can make mine as pretty as hers and eventually start other blogs like Beauty/Fashion, Recipes, Crafts, and so forth! Stay tuned! Hopefully I can make this a big deal!
